Meet the Cast!

Jessica Chance Headshot        

Jessica Chance (Lettie – Dear Emma) Jessica Earned her degree in Acting from Emerson College. Credits: The Emancipation of Mandy and Miz Ellie; Company One, Breath, Boom; the Huntington Theatre Anton in Show Business; Apollinaire Theatre Company and other projects with the Boston Playwright’s Theatre and True Story Theater. Along with her work as an actor she enjoys career counseling and coaching young adults to help them pursue their passions. Jessica is SO excited to be working with an incredible group of talented artists with New Urban Theatre Laboratory and eager to be a part of the Five and Dime!

CHRIS LOUIS HEAD SHOT (THE VESSEL)

Chris Louis  (Teacher – Vessel of Eden by Catherine M. O’Neill) Chris is going into his 4th year as a student at the UMass Boston. He is currently studying Theatre Arts and hopes to continue his love and passion for acting, potentially working towards appearing on film. As a high school student, Chris took part in various drama shows and musicals and immediately fell in love with acting. When he entered college, he worked with the Theater Players club, did a staged reading of Two Ships Passing, performed in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and Lysistrata. In recent months he has taken part in UMass Boston’s Playwrights’ Theatre Festival and the spring production of The Seagull. His dream is to continue to pursue acting, eventually working for the camera and inspiring youth to achievetheir highest goals. Chris would like to thank Alycia Love and all his friends and family for their continued support in what he can achieve.

CAT ROBERTS HEAD SHOT (THE VESSEL)

Cat Roberts (Eve Vessel of Eden) is a Theatre Arts major at UMass Boston, She has had the privilege of working on several university and student productions both back stage as an assistant stage manager, set builder, playwright and in the limelight as an actor. She is excited to take her talent and enthusiasm off campus and participate in the Third Annual NUTlab Five&Dime production and hopes that the audience will enjoy the show, or at least not throw rotting fruit at the stage during her performance!

Marquita Niles Five & Dime

Marquita Niles (Emma – Dear Emma by Robbi D’Allessandro) Marquita is a native of Boston, Massachusetts where acting became her avenue and focus at Boston Arts Academy and continued through out college and thereafter.  Since finishing college in 2008, she has been giving the privilege of teaching theatre to youth, alongside writing and spoken word. Her latest performances were in Mama Can’t Help You Now, Hope of Glory and with TC Squared Theatre Company at the W.H.A.T Theatre Retreat (Welfleet Harbors Actors Theatre). Since 2011, she has dedicated her acting and writing as a member with TC Squared Theatre Company. In 2011, she understudied with fringe theatre company, ARTiculation. Marquita has also had the joy of continuing to improve her acting in Company One’s Professional Development for Actor’s classes, which she looks forward to joining again for a third time. More excitingly, Marquita looks forward to being a part of TriCord Productions!!! Acting and writing aren’t the only two things that keep Ms. Niles afloat; but more so her entrepreneurial spirit that revolves around it all. Her biggest drive is family, youth and her community.

ZACH MATTHEW HEAD SHOT (THE VESSEL)

Zach Matthew (Adam – The Vessel of Eden) Zack is a renaissance man with toes dipped in music, writing and acting. With degrees in Theatre Arts and Historical Archaeology he is pursuing graduate school and hopes to teach. Past theater experiences include The Shape of Things, The Zoo Story and Beauty and the Beast.

Maya Sugarman

Maya Sugarman (Wendy – Fair Game, by Cynthia Chapman) is a recent graduate of Harvard University, where she performed in the American Repertory Theater Institute’s Neighborhood 3: Requisition of Doom and manystudent productions. A native of Seattle, she recently made her post-college Boston debut in Good Person of Setzuan with Fort Point Theater Channel.

June Kfoury

June Kfoury (Donna – Twighlighy Years, written by Mary Conroy) June Kfoury has appeared in a variety of plays, musicals, and opera in Greater Boston as well as summer stock in Central Massachusetts.  This season, June has just completed another run as Marie Cote, a role she originally appeared in for Boston Children’s Theatre’s 2012 world premier production of Reflections of a Rock Lobster. Other roles include The Nurse in Happy Medium’s Romeo and Juliet, Kate Keller in All My Sons, Miss MacKay in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, The Housekeeper in Man of La Mancha, Mrs. Segstrom in A Little Night Music, and Grandmother Tzeitel in Fiddler on the Roof.

Jojo Kindeur

Jo Jo Kindeur(Maggie – Broken Wings on St. Maurice, by Charlene A. Donaghy) Jo Jo is a recent graduate at Umass Boston. She is a part-time actor and pharmacist technician. She currently works as a wardrobe coordinator at the Nora Theatre Company. Her latest work include the role of “Becca” in the play White Bra with a Pink Bow, (also written by Charlene A. Donaghy) held at the SWAN Festival 2013. JoJo is striving in her efforts to move to LA to pursue her dreams. She thanks her  friends and most importantly her family. Thank you and  enjoy the show!

Richard Caines (Trey – Broken Wings on St. Maurice by Charlene A. Donaghy) Richard Caines ​was born Richard B. Caines III and raised in Medford Massachusetts. He has been acting since he was in grade school and continued through high school and onto Emerson College where he studied Theatre, Writing and radio and received a B.F.A. in Theatre Along with acting he is also a writer, producer and director of both theatre and film. He also enjoys teaching and coaching acting at various levels. He has worked on numerous projects and stays busy between Boston and Los Angeles California. He was last seen on stage in New Urban Theatre Laboratories production of Charlene Donaghy’s Gift of An Orange at the 2012 Tennessee Williams Theatre Festival in Provincetown.

Obehi Janice (Sarah – Reparations, writting by Terry Kidd) Obehi Janice is excited to be a part of NutLab’s Five & Dime!  is a Nigerian-American performer/writer/speaker with two first-names. Her solo work and writing explores the power of voice in identity, politics, cultural exchange, and testimony. She is a graduate of Georgetown University and has trained with Shakespeare & Company and Sojourn Theatre. She is the creator/performer of two solo shows: suddenly BLACK, at Georgetown and FUFU & OREOS. A Boston-based theater artist, Obehi has worked with Company One, Zeitgeist Stage Company, Underground Railway Theater, Actors’ Shakespeare Project, Whistler in the Dark, and the Huntington, among others. She is also a director, teaching artist and voice over actress. Recent performances of FUFU & OREOS include productions with MPAACT (Chicago, February 2013) and Sleeping Weazel (Boston, March 2013). UPCOMING: The Berkshire Fringe Festival (July/August 2013). She is also the author of two short plays: RED DRINK and BLACK GIRL YOGA. Obehi is currently writing two new full length plays, Ole White Sugah Daddy and OLU/OLA. www.fufuandoreos.com

DanielleKellermann Headshot

Danielle Kellermann (Mother – Fair Game by Cynthia Chapman)  is a BFA graduate from Boston University’s College of Fine Arts and MA from University College Cork Ireland. She made her professional theatre debut at the National Arts Festival in South Africa with her one-woman show, The Date, in 2003. Her regional credits include QED (Underground Railway Theater), Crickets (Boston Theatre Marathon) Edmund in King Lear (LAMDA), Agnes in Agnes of God (DN Productions), Margaret in Scene of Shipwreck (BU), Carol in Orpheus Descending (Pemads Theater SA) and Antigone (New Art Theatre NH). Commercial Credits include Comcast, NY Life, Paracelsus Films & Adam Perri Productions.

Melanie Garber (CMelanieolleen, Reparations, by Terry Kidd) is a Boston native, director, actor and playwright. Select past credits include Priscilla Dreams the Answerby Walt McGough (Fresh Ink Theatre Company), Crave by Sarah Kane (Heart & Dagger Productions) and Medea (Actors Shakespeare Project). Next up: Paper City Pheonix by Walt McGough (Boston Actors Theatre). Melanie is a proud participant of The Hangar Theatre Lab Company and La MaMa Umbria Directors’ Symposium in Spoleto, Italy.
